Oh no You never let go

One of the saddest things I encounter is people who think Christianity is all about a) being a good person and going to church or b) believing in Christ for fire insurance from hell.

Our God is a God of love. A God who loves us though we rebelled against him. A God who extends his arms to us though we would cut the rope that keeps us from plunging into darkness. And still, he loves us and calls to us and draws us to himself. And when we don't answer, he plunges into those depths himself to rescue us. And he holds us gently, tenderly, securely. He lifts our heads and opens our eyes. And he does not let us go.
